Starting with Europe, the European Securities and Markets Authority, or ESMA, has launched a Call for Evidence on the use of tokenised collateral in central clearing. Stakeholders are invited to submit input by January 15, 2027, addressing legal, market, operational, and infrastructure issues related to tokenisation. ESMA emphasizes that this call does not propose changes to eligible collateral categories but seeks to understand tokenisation models, legal certainty, segregation, settlement finality, liquidity, haircuts, operational resilience, and other use cases.

In Turkey, the National Pharmacopoeia Authority, known as Türkiye İlaç ve Tıbbi Cihaz Kurumu, Farmakope Birimi, has published 35 draft monographs for public comment through the Pharmeuropa 38.4 edition. These include substances such as Estradiol hemihydrate, Sodium glycerophosphate hydrated, and Mitoxantrone hydrochloride. As Turkey is a member state of the European Pharmacopoeia, these standards will become legally binding once accepted by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission. Manufacturers and users are urged to submit comments by December 30, 2026, via the National Pharmacopoeia Authority’s channels.

Turning to Sweden, a new law aimed at increasing resilience among critical operators is expected to take effect in early 2027. This law is supported by a national strategy for resilience in critical societal functions covering 2026 to 2030. The legislation mandates strengthening the ability to resist, manage, and recover from disruptions such as crises, cyberattacks, extreme weather, and war. It promotes collaboration among the public sector, private companies, and civil society, emphasizing responsibility and long-term decision-making. Practical measures include risk management, continuity planning, and crisis preparedness.

In the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Health has updated the comprehensive list of prices and reimbursements for PZLÚ as of October 10, 2026. This update reflects a 12 percent value-added tax and the Ministry’s price regulation dated October 24, 2025. The list specifies manufacturer prices, maximum prices, reimbursement levels, and co-payment details. Manufacturers, importers, and payers under the Czech public health insurance system must adhere to these new pricing and reimbursement frameworks, ensuring compliance with reporting and documentation requirements.

Moving to Asia, the Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission’s Securities and Futures Bureau announced a penalty against the responsible person of San Yuan Construction Co., Ltd., or 三圓建設股份有限公司, for violations related to asset acquisition procedures under securities laws. The ruling underscores the requirement to obtain professional appraisal reports before acquiring assets from related parties, secure approval from the audit committee and board of directors prior to signing agreements and payments, and ensure timely disclosure and reporting of such transactions.

In Japan, a government procurement tender has been announced for modification services of the drug safety support system associated with the introduction of next-generation safety measures, specifically signal detection products. Bidders must meet qualification criteria under Cabinet Order Articles 70 and 71 and possess unified qualification ratings of A, B, or C in the Kanto-Koshinetsu region. Submission of qualification documents is due by November 16, 2026, with bid submissions closing on November 18, 2026, at 5 p.m.

In North America, the Texas Comptroller has selected four school districts—Austin, Barbers Hill, El Paso, and Prosper—for detailed performance reviews. These reviews will verify compliance with state law and ensure that funds are appropriately allocated toward students, classrooms, and teachers rather than administrative expansion. The final report is expected by December 31, 2026.

The United States Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, has issued a Request for Information seeking public input to support ibogaine research. Also in the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, has filed charges against Himanshu Jindal, also known as Manish Jindal, for securities fraud involving false certified public accountant credentials and fake audit reports. The SEC seeks a permanent injunction preventing Mr. Jindal from violating securities laws, prohibits him from acting in accounting or financial reporting roles for public companies, and demands disgorgement of ill-gotten gains with prejudgment interest.

In Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia issued a decision regarding the City of Port Moody. The adjudicator ordered the city to disclose portions of a workplace investigation report that do not constitute advice or recommendations, while authorizing withholding of specific information under section 13(1) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The ruling clarifies that public bodies must conduct a line-by-line review before withholding information under section 13(1), disclosing factual material and only withholding information that reveals advice or recommendations.
